Topic1. Writing experience for different audiences

Write about your experiences writing for different audiences. What kind of audiences have you written for, either in English or your native language? Depending on the audience, how did your writing strategies, language and motivation differ? Which kind of writing do you prefer and why? Is one audience more difficult for you than another? Why?

Topic2. Plagiarism in academic writing

Through Unit1 and Unit2, we have discussed plagiarism in academic writings. Plagiarism is an important issue that college students should think of seriously.  Briefly define plagiarism in your words and write about what you think about plagiarism. Why do you think that the university considers plagiarism as a serious problem? How have been changed your thoughts about plagiarism after in class discussion? If you want to share your personal experiences, you can write about them as well.

Topic3. Thoughts on feedback

Write your opinion about feedback in ESL112. You have received feedback from a teacher and peers. How much does feedback help your improvement in writing?  What do you think were the most important problems that you had? What problems did you fix as a result of teacher feedback and peer feedback?

Between teacher feedback and peer feedback, which one do you think more important or equally important? Why or why not? Were the comments that the teacher left helpful or frustrating? Did your peers use appropriate feedback strategies and expressions on your writing?
